Comments on "The Mummy returns"

I don't know about you guys, but the movie's grafix had serious errors. So bad, i thought i'd mention some. It seemed they allowed the grafix designers direct some parts of the movie, since there were shots that were seemingly intended to look CG. Plus, the guys have no idea of postproduction and composing. Comment freely if you like

Yeah, was a bit like a computer game toward the end. I think they began to rush it/or lost inspiration or sumthin'.

Generally a very disappointing movie. Nothing new or interesting at all, plus The Rock looked like crap in the end???

Well, I can't do better than them so I'll just say I agree with Ian. no wait, they must've had loads of people working on it.

it was ilm that worked on it. the team was small.( because the rest of the guys are working on the starwars movie.) another reason for the "bad" graphics is because the producers kept on changing their minds all the time.( especially on the scorpion king ) thats why he looked like crap.
the third reason is becuause they didnt have much time on the movie to begin with....and the budget wasnt all that big. so stop trashing the movie...i thought it was fun..( even with the "bad" cg.) Re: Comments on "The Mummy returns"

Hey, fun is one thing, crappy gfx is another. The scorpion king had some serious errors, although animation wasn't all that bad, i loved the sand mummies (not the army), and I have to admit, there were some very nice artistic elements in that film. but errors....i wouldn't finish in this message...

I really enjoyed the first Mummy it had a fun pulpy feel to it. The Mummy Return's plot is predicated on the idea that you saw the first movie. The movie seemed too fast pace and left little room for things such as plot and character development (admittedly shouldn't doesn't go to an action film expecting fine cinema), in the end it was a let down and not really a worthy successor to the first film (left me feeling vaguely like had just walked out of Highlander 2, yuck). IMO
But, don't let me rain on the parade of those who enjoyed the movie... Re: Comments on "The Mummy returns"

It was a fun movie. A good "popcorn flick". The kind of movie to take the woman to...
I gag every time I see the Rock at the end of the film. Even my meager texturing skills surpass that...it was just too stretched out and fake looking. Also, when the armies all vanished into dust, they should have had the dust stay there. It would have been a lot better. It's still a pretty cool movie and I will go and see it again (for free...I know half the staff at the local theatre :) ) -Brett Bojduj Monolithic Illusions Last modification: Brett - 06/01/01 at 23:45:19 Re: Comments on "The Mummy returns"

To tell you the truth, i enjoyed The mummy returns far more than The mummy, i don't know, i thought it was extreemely funny, and there was plenty of adventure and action, whereas The Mummy didn't.
